Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026.
WordFloor, operated by Simeon Pashley, is currently a pre-launch waitlist for a private daily writing product. This notice covers the waitlist website only; private writing and paid services are not currently part of this processing.
Information we process
When you join the waitlist, we process:
- your email address;
- whether and when you consented, the consent and privacy-policy versions, and the form used;
- a broad country or region supplied by our hosting provider;
- a salted request-evidence hash derived from IP address, user agent, and country when configured; and
- technical and security logs produced by hosting, anti-abuse, and email providers, which may include IP address, browser details, timestamps, and request outcomes.
We do not collect payment details or private writing through the waitlist. We do not sell personal data, run advertising profiles, or use waitlist data to train or score AI models.
Why we use it
| Purpose | UK GDPR basis |
|---|---|
| Send waitlist confirmation, product updates, and invitations | Consent. You may withdraw it at any time. |
| Prevent spam, secure the service, and investigate abuse | Legitimate interests in operating a safe service. |
| Respond to rights requests or legal obligations | Legal obligation or legitimate interests. |
Joining the waitlist does not create an account or guarantee product access.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare to host and protect the site and provide Turnstile anti-abuse checks. We use Brevo to manage double opt-in, the confirmed contact list, and email delivery. Those providers process data under their own infrastructure and contractual terms on our behalf where applicable.
Where a provider transfers personal data outside the UK, we rely on the transfer mechanism and safeguards applicable to that provider relationship.
Retention
Waitlist contact and consent data is retained until product launch, deletion request, or transition into an appropriate consented product-updates list. Security logs and provider records follow the shortest operational and legal retention periods configured for those systems.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing; receive portable data; and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
To unsubscribe, use the link in a WordFloor marketing email. To make another request, email hello@wordfloor.com. We may need enough information to verify the request without disclosing data to another person.
Security and automated decisions
We use access controls, provider-managed encryption in transit, secret storage, double opt-in, anti-abuse checks, and minimised contact attributes. No internet service is risk-free.
The waitlist does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects through automated profiling.
Changes and product launch
We will revise this notice before collecting private writing, account data beyond the waitlist, or payment-related records. Material changes will be dated and communicated where required.
